Voterfield Privacy Policy

Crown Capital Investments, LLC, which operates Voterfield ("Crown Capital," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process Personal Information in connection with the Voterfield website, platform, and services (collectively, the "Services"). It also describes the privacy rights and choices that may be available to you under applicable law.

Our Role

Our role depends on the activity involved. When we process Personal Information solely on behalf of a political organization and under that organization’s instructions, we act as its service provider or processor. The organization is responsible for its own privacy notice and for how it uses Personal Information it receives through the Services. For activities where Crown Capital determines the purposes and means of processing, we act as an independent controller or business, as applicable.

Information We Collect

Scans, link visits, and device information

When you scan a Voterfield code or open a Voterfield campaign link, we may collect whether the interaction was a scan or shared-link visit; the date and time; device and browser information; general geographic information; and information used to measure the source and reach of campaign engagement. We may also use an anonymous first-party cookie or similar identifier to recognize a returning browser or device and keep campaign measurements accurate.

We may use your IP address or a shortened version of it to estimate a general area, such as your county or precinct, for campaign measurement and analytics.

Precise geolocation

Some portions of the Services may offer the option to share precise geolocation. Where this feature is available, we provide a notice and request your express consent before triggering the browser location prompt. If you decline, we do not collect GPS-level location. We do not offer this feature in jurisdictions where our use would not be permitted under applicable law.

Sign-in and identity information

Some portions of the Services allow you to sign in using Google, Apple, or another authentication provider. If you choose to sign in, we may receive your name, email address, and an identifier assigned by the provider. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email feature, we may receive a relay address instead of your actual email address. We also maintain a record of the disclosure or consent text presented to you, its version, and the time of your sign-in.

Signing in allows us and the applicable political organization to associate your identity with your engagement with the Services. For example, the political organization may be able to recognize you on a later visit, see that you interacted with its content, or attribute engagement generated through links you shared. Anonymous scans are not identified unless you affirmatively identify yourself through the Services or otherwise provide identifying information.

Sharing and referral activity

We may measure how a campaign link spreads when people share it. For example, we record who shared a link, the visits and additional shares that result, the channel used, when the activity occurred, and related reach or engagement metrics. If you have identified yourself, this activity may be attributed to you and shared with the political organization whose content you shared.

Information from data enrichment providers

Where enabled, we may use an email address or other identifier you provide to obtain additional information from third-party data enrichment providers. This may include name and contact information; approximate age or income ranges; household size, home ownership, marital status, or similar household information; occupation, industry, or employer; metropolitan area or partial ZIP information; interests and audience segments; and indicators such as charitable-donor, political-donor, investor, or wealth ranges.

We may maintain an enrichment profile as part of our own platform and reuse that profile when the same person later interacts with a different political organization. When we do this, we do not disclose one political organization’s campaign history or engagement data to another political organization. We may refresh enrichment information through our data providers from time to time.

Information provided by political organizations

Political organizations may provide voter, supporter, or contact information, including voter-file data and outreach lists. We process this information to provide the Services requested by the political organization, such as delivering outreach, measuring engagement, matching responses to campaign records, and honoring opt-out requests. The political organization is responsible for the information it provides and for its own use of that information.

Public information used by Voterfield

We may use publicly available information, such as census demographics and geographic boundaries, precinct election returns, and voter registration counts, to provide campaign analytics and compare engagement against local baselines.

Text Messages

The Services may support campaign text programs, including programs you join by sending a keyword or submitting your number and voter-file outreach programs based on lists supplied by a political organization. We maintain records needed to deliver messages and honor opt-out requests. Reply STOP where available to stop future messages. We may retain the minimum information necessary to continue honoring a suppression request.

Information Obtained Through Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to host, operate, and maintain our Services. These technologies may collect information that may include Personal Information, such as browser or device information, and may be used to verify system and server integrity, enable website functionality, and help ensure the security and proper operation of the Services.

How We Use Personal Information

Depending on the feature involved, we may use Personal Information to operate the Services; provide campaign and outreach analytics; recognize users who choose to identify themselves; measure sharing and referral activity; provide identified engagement to the applicable organization; enrich profiles with information from third-party data providers; match engagement to voter or supporter records; support campaign outreach, audience development, or turnout activities where enabled; maintain opt-out and suppression records; detect fraud, abuse, and security threats; improve and troubleshoot the Services; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our agreements and policies.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose Personal Information to the organization you are interacting with through the Services. For example, if you identify yourself through the Services, the applicable political organization may receive your identity and information about your engagement, including sharing or referral activity attributed to you.

We may disclose Personal Information to service providers and vendors that help us host and secure the Services, send communications, perform data enrichment, and support other operational functions. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, investigate unlawful activity, enforce our agreements, protect rights or safety, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, sale, restructuring, or similar business transaction.

Targeted Advertising

We may use Personal Information, such as your email address, to create or match audiences with advertising platforms so that you may receive relevant advertising. Depending on applicable law, this type of disclosure may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or use of Personal Information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, even if we do not receive money in exchange for the information. Where required, you may opt out of these uses through the methods described in the Privacy Rights and Choices section below.

Retention

We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining required records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing abuse, and complying with law. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason we collected it. If you ask to stop receiving communications, we may retain a limited suppression record so that we can continue honoring your request. If we receive enrichment information from an independent data provider, deleting our copy does not necessarily require that provider to delete information it independently maintains in its own database.

Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights with respect to your Personal Information, including the rights described below. These rights may be subject to exceptions and may not apply in every circumstance.

  • Access – the right to request access to, or a copy of, Personal Information we maintain about you.
  • Deletion – the right to request deletion of Personal Information we have collected or obtained about you.
  • Correction – the right to request correction of inaccurate Personal Information we maintain about you.
  • Opt Out of Certain Processing – the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information and the use of your Personal Information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Appeal – if we deny a privacy request and applicable law gives you a right to appeal, you may appeal our decision using the instructions provided in our response.

To exercise your rights, email us at privacy@blueqr.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. You may also use an authorized agent where permitted by law, and we may request information needed to verify the agent’s authority.

Where required by applicable law, we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as requests to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for the browser or device that sends the signal.

If your request concerns information we process solely on behalf of an organization in connection with the Services, we may direct you to that organization or assist it in responding to your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.

Security

We maintain commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Location of Processing

The Services are operated from the United States, and Personal Information may be stored and processed in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your Personal Information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than those in your location.

Other Websites

The Services may link to websites operated by political organizations, government entities, or other third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not this Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services, our practices, or legal obligations change. We will update the “Last Updated” date when we do. If we make a material change that significantly expands how we collect or use Personal Information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
